Negotiations between Apple and China Mobile to offer the iPhone in China have failed, according to a new report. The Southern Daily newspaper, citing unnamed sources, reports that the two parties failed to reach an agreement due to differences over revenue sharing. China Mobile CEO Wang Jianzhou had previously said that the company was in talks to offer the iPhone in China, while warning that he disliked the revenue-sharing model Apple had used elsewhere.…

Looks aside, what’s really interesting about SeeJacket Crystal’s design is a gamble Artwizz took on the front half of its two-piece plastic shell. Holes are cut out for the iPhone’s Home button, ear…

We’ve just closed out last month’s poll, “What do you use your iPod(s) for?,” and replaced it with a brand new poll, “Which likely 2008 Apple product are you most excited about?” The results of the past poll were interesting. Of the nearly 3,000 survey responses we received, audio was obviously the number one use of the iPod—everyone uses their iPods for audio, and 25% used their iPods only for audio—but…

This month, Tunewear—a Japanese company known mostly for its iPod cases and clips—joined the iPod recorder club with the Stereo Sound Recorder for iPod ($50), which we’ll call SSR for short. SSR hits the market at a point in time when its competitors have fallen in street price to $20-40, at least in the United States, and may be of more interest to Japanese consumers than those elsewhere in the world. In short, what Tunewear brings…

According to a Reuters report, EMI may be planning to significantly reduce its payments to industry trade groups such as the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and others that represent the music companies and help fight piracy. EMI was recently acquired by private equity group Terra Firma, and is currently undergoing a strategic review. EMI was also the first of the four…

Both products are made from black or blue Orca skin neoprene—a smoother, nicer-looking version of the materials used in generic neoprene cases—and come packaged with the same four basic components: a case, a detachable Multidapt belt clip, a new and improved armband, and a matching removable key pouch. The clip, armband, and key pouch are identical from iPhone to iPod touch, and as is typical of Marware’s workmanship, both attractive…
